A recipe without provenance. Simple syrup is a mixture of one part granulated sugar and one part water, heated enough to dissolve the sugar. It will keep in your refrigerator for weeks and is the perfect way to sweeten iced tea – no undissolved sugar in the bottom of the glass.
Ingredients:
5 thin slices cucumber 2 ounces gin 1 ounce simple syrup Club soda Lime wedge and mint sprig for garnish
Preparation:
In a highball glass, combine cucumber and gin and let it sit for 10 minutes. Stir in simple syrup, add ice and top off with club soda. Garnish with lime and mint and enjoy. Makes 1 drink.
