Sesame Okra

Last week, Mary Moore of Cook’s Warehouse, demonstrated two okra recipes at the Morningside Farmers Market. So glad to share them with you here.

Ingredients:

1/2 tablespoon olive oil 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil 1 medium onion, thinly sliced 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 pound okra, caps removed and quartered 1 medium tomato, peeled and diced 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds.

Preparation:

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and sesame oil and sauté onions until translucent. Add garlic and quickly sauté, then stir in okra and sauté until tender, about 10 minutes. Add tomatoes and cook 2 minutes more, stir in sesame seeds and serve.
