Old-Fashioned Buttermilk Ranch Dressing

Recipe Author: Conne Ward Cameron

This is one of my favorite cookbooks! If you like ranch dressing, you’ll love this. It’s exactly what you remember ranch dressing to be, without a lot of stuff that you don’t have in your kitchen. It amazed me the first time that I made homemade ranch dressing. We’re enjoying this tonight, with a huge salad with other veggies (radishes!) and ham, as soon as I finish writing this up.

Ingredients:

½ cup mayonnaise ¼ cup buttermilk (I use plain yogurt instead) 3 tablespoons sour cream 2 green onions (white and green parts) chopped 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard 1 clove garlic, very finely chopped Coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper

Preparation:

In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, buttermilk, sour cream, green onions, parsley, vinegar, mustard, and garlic; season with salt and pepper, Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 8 hours. The garlic becomes very strong if made more than a day in advance.
